U.S. MedSci’s leadership team is a talented mix of seasoned healthcare business executives and successful technology entrepreneurs – all backed by the expertise of some of the world’s foremost medical and behavioral health experts.


Michael Shaffer, President
Michael is a results oriented leader with 20+ years leadership and management experience in manufacturing, telecommunications, and medical services and equipment.   When he isn’t working he can often be found on the golf course or enjoying the trails on his mountain bike.


Bryan Mack, CEO
Bryan is a seasoned executive and entrepreneur with 12+ years of executive experience in healthcare services, finance and management in high-growth organizations.  He has been a founding member of several multi-million dollar companies and built two national sales organizations in the past 5 years.  Bryan earned an MBA in 2003.


Annette Shaffer, Vice President
Annette brings a wealth of business experience both as an entrepreneur and international corporate business support experience.  Her background includes the successful launch of a promotional products company and international sales and marketing support for a large multinational company with duties that required her to become multilingual in supporting a team throughout Europe, Africa and the Middle East.   She is married and has four incredible daughters.


Chris Helterbrand, National Sales Trainer and Support
Chris has been in the medical business for 23 years with an emphasis in Spine, Orthopedics and Pain Management.  He has built his knowledge of this industry through strong experience in the field with companies like Aesculap, Orthofix and Boston Scientific.  His further experience in management, training, development and consulting have developed primarily through the ownership and management of independent sales organizations in the medical and financial brokerage markets. His experiences afford him a unique perspective in providing the creative business solutions required for the proper positioning of products and services in the medical industry.


Jeff Lacy, Regional Sales Director
Jeff formed Lacy Medical, LLC over five years ago. He has extensive experience in the medical field with dedicated focus on ancillary revenue generation directed toward physicians and their practices. Jeff operates in over 12 states and brings his clients and representatives a well-studied knowledge of billing and the business of pain management.  Jeff’s background is mechanical and civil engineering with experience in the aero-tech field, energy industry and residential/commercial design-build contracting.


Rick Peek, Regional Sales Director

Rick comes from a family of respected physicians, healthcare attorneys, caregivers and business-people so his ability to relate to the dynamic needs of both the clinician and the patient is rare and valuable. Rick’s career has been spent in helping clients recognize and maximize efficiencies, primarily through the use of emerging technologies. Rick takes great pride in his role as a trusted advisor and credits his success to open communication, keen insight and hard work. A native southerner, Rick has traveled extensively and brings with him a love of adventure, people, life and music.


Shane Jones, Regional Sales Director
Shane’s background as a small business owner provides a unique perspective when dealing with both Physicians and their staff.  Not only does he understand the Physician need to be profitable in business, but he understands that in order to do that the practice must meet patient expectations.  Shane has a degree in marketing from Kennesaw State University and currently resides in Fayetteville, Georgia.  Shane and his wife Tonya have three children.  In his spare time he enjoys fishing and spending time with his family.


Brien DeBari, Regional Sales Director
Brien is a business executive with 20+ years of experience in medical sales, marketing and general management. His background includes positions as Director of Sales for a mid-sized pharmaceutical company, VP of Business Development with a pharma software company, and President of a leading US-based allergy vaccine manufacturer and marketer. He has a BS in Chemistry and Education and an MBA in Finance.
